I did the Pouch Reset Diet- Here Are My Results

As anticipated, the pouch reset was a brutal shock to my entire system. I must confess that I had an ulterior motive for doing the reset, and that was to use it as a cleanse of sorts to rid my body of gluten.

>>>> For healthy, gluten-free snacks check out Diet Direct for satisfying and safe bariatric meal replacements.<<<<<

I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and had not realized the impact a gluten free diet could have on chronic inflammation and flares. I promise to write more about this topic in future posts for those who may be interested.

The Results

  • Weight loss: 8 pounds
  • Appetite: Very suppressed
  • Pouch size: 4-6 oz
  • Skin: Clearer
  • Cravings: Minimal

The Reset

In my previous post Losing Weight With The Pouch Reset, I cover the details of what to consume each day and provide examples and ideas you can use.

I also covered day 1 of the reset in the post titled “Day 1 of the Pouch Reset Diet”. The struggle was very real. Being on an all liquid diet is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

Don’t exercise the first 3 days. You will be on liquids and most likely calorie-deprived. You need calories for energy and to work out. I promise you will feel lightheaded and too weak to work out, but in case you feel up to it, I would still recommend you abstain to prevent injury.

If you feel like drinking caffeine, do it. Unless you are specifically trying to quit caffeine, go ahead and have that cup of coffee (just abstain from creamer and sugars). Trust me, dealing with the reset and all liquids is bad enough; adding caffeine withdrawal symptoms on top of that will make you into a hangry and caffeine-deprived ogre. And nobody wants that.

Prepare for the reset. Plan your meals- don't wing it. Temptation will set in. Cravings will hit you hard. If you are ready with your broth, jello, teas, protein shakes, etc, you're better equipped to stay the course.

If you cheat, don’t stop! Continue the reset. On day 3 I missed chewing so bad that I took a bite of a piece of chicken I’d made for my family. I chewed it, caught myself doing it, and then spit it out. I allowed myself to falter, but picked up the pieces where I stood and carried on. I also had some coffee during the 10 days (not every day, but I had some). Faltering is nothing to be ashamed of, it’s human. Don’t think you have to be perfect in every way, allow yourself some wiggle room for error, forgive yourself, and carry on.

I wish you the best of luck if you’re embarking on the pouch reset. If you have questions, feel free to comment below and subscribe.

    1. Hello Stacy,
I was able to successfully keep off the 8 lbs and my cravings were under control for a while (obviously, I followed it up with smart meals and added more protein to my diet). It helped me cut back on snacking a great deal.

  4. Heya! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any methods to stop hackers?
