Hello all and welcome to my page. When I set out to have bariatric surgery in 2014, I had many questions and felt information was lacking on the topic. Yes there were many articles from a physician’s point of view, but not much information from patients. I wanted to know what they felt like, what they ate, how they lived after bariatric surgery. That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands -or finger tips 😉 and share my experience after weight loss surgery.

Here you will find tips for long term success after bariatric surgery, as well as a community of people to connect with and share the pitfalls and joys of weight loss surgery. We will explore what bariatric surgery can do/has done for us, and how to live our best, healthiest, fittest  lives.

A little more about me…

In 2016 I was diagnosed with a “prolactinoma” which is a type of benign brain tumor- although it’s technically on the pituitary gland. Needless to say, I am a fierce advocate for this condition, and since it’s so rare, I would love to spread awareness and provide support for those of us fighting this battle.

I live with fibromyalgia and chronic immune illness, I’m still learning to deal with these conditions. BUT, proper medication, nutrition and exercise can help minimize the pain and flare ups.

It is my sincerest hope the information you find here helps you on your own journey.

Love,

Ana MC

  1. First of all I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.

I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing.
I’ve had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out.

I truly do take pleasure in writing however
it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are
usually lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. Honestly, it happens when inspiration strikes or I have a new project. Mainly, I like to focus on the needs and questions in the bariatric/ chronic autoimmune community and share on that. I keep a journal and write down ideas often. Mainly, writing happens when I’m relaxed, with a cup of coffee in my hand and a view of our cats :).

  4. I believe that avoiding prepared foods would be the first step to be able to lose weight. They might taste very good, but highly processed foods include very little nutritional value, making you take in more in order to have enough power to get through the day. For anyone who is constantly consuming these foods, transitioning to whole grains and other complex carbohydrates will make you to have more vigor while consuming less. Interesting blog post.
